Mandelieu La Napoule
Cannes Mandelieu is one of the most desirable places to live, work and holiday in Europe. The historic Chateau of La Napoule, with its immaculate gardens offering summer concerts, a panoramic sea view restaurant, sculpture and painting exhibitions is perched majestically over the sandy beaches in front of La Napoule old town and the local market and shops, restaurants, bars and squares where residents and tourists mix, play boules and sip local rose wine. For special occasions it’s highly recommended to dine at L’Oassis, a Michelin star, Relais Chateaux restaurant famous since the 1930’s. From the port there are ferry boats for the short hop across to the two picturesque Iles de Lerins islands of Saint Marguerite and Saint Honorat. The return trip is equally impressive with views of the Mimosa covered hills of Le Grand Duc above.
From the residence you are a mere 10 minutes drive to Cannes -the Playground of the rich and famous. The stunning promenade of the Croisette with its Palace hotels, Carlton, Majestic and Martinez, running in parallel with the rue d’Antibes with its end to end boutiques full of Mediterranean chic. Internationally renowned for the annual Film Festival as well as many other exhibitions held at the Palais des Festival throughout the year. The adjacent Old Port and the cobble stoned street Le Suquet offers a multitude of restaurants from gourmet to casual.
The leading golf centre on the French Riviera, Mandelieu la Napoule is home to the prestigious “Old Course” which was built in 1891. Its 18-hole and 9-hole courses, set against a background of hundred year-old stone pine forests, are full of charm and a variety of hazards for all abilities. More recently built, the Cannes-Mandelieu Riviera Golf is known for the high quality of its course design which is the work of the American architect Robert Trent Jones.
Golf is not the only sporting pleasure afforded on the Riviera. The coast here is home to a variety of activities including sailing, diving, water skiing, yachting or simply lazing about on the fine sand beaches.
